Music that I like
Here is some of my current rotation of favorite music. Gogol Bordello is one that i have just discovered and haven't been able to stop listining to. They have a really ethnic sound to them. Some other favorites are Manic Street Preachers, James, Grant Lee Buffalo, The Beastie Boys, The Beta Band, Jeff Buckley, The Clash, New Order, Radiohead, the Smiths, Sonic Youth, THE Stone Roses, Jesus And Mary Chain, U2, Mercury Rev, Franz Ferdinand, plus so many more.

Favorite bands/artists: phish, neil young, blur, cibo matto, the cars, syd barrett (/early pink floyd), brian jonestown massacre
Other music currently in rotation (or bands with sounds you'd like to hear more of): i want to hear more psychedelic rock or experimental electronica, like daft punk only less repetitive and more awesome (even though daft punk is pretty chill)
What makes you love an album/song/artist: i'm a sucker for synthesizers
What are you looking for?: i'd like to hear newer music, i've been on a classic rock kick my whole life and all the newer bands i listen to sort of bore me now
Any recomendations for us?: eh no not really, but i do like tokyo jihen!

First music post
CFavorite bands/artists: Bjork, Joey Eppard, 3, Porcupine Tree, The Mars Volta, Rx bandits, The Dismemberment Plan, Cibo Matto, Apollo Sunshine, Ani Difranco, Saul Williams, Gorillaz, Coheed and Cambria, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle, Of Montreal, Basement Jaxx, Radiohead, Incubus, Metric, Stevie Wonder, Broken Social Scene, At the Drive in, Xiu Xiu, Air, Michael Jackson, Steel Train, Muse, Zero 7, Yes, Elliott Smith, Neutral Milk Hotel, Zoot Woman

Other music Currently in rotation (or bands with sounds you'd like to hear more of): Been listening to ALOT of later Blur (13 and Think Tank), Smokey and Miho, Cibo Matto, Shiina Ringo, Tokyo Jihen (Shiina's band), Medications, The Kinks and Tom Waits

What makes you love an album/song/artist: Creativity, treating music as art, albums that flow perfectly (I almost always listen to full albums, not random songs). I like all genres but it better be fun or beautiful.

What are you a sucker for?: Songs about the end of the world, soulful voices, wierd noises in not so wierd music, emotion that pierces the singers voice

What are you are looking for? (genre, country, type of lyrics, instruments used): Right now I'm feeling alot of music that has a pop sound but experimental undertones (see Currently in Rotation). I'm also looking for international music (Japanese, French, Brazilian).

Any recomendations for us?: 3 (www.purevolume.com/3), one of the most talented bands I've heard with such accesible music, genre hopping, and sincerity. Also the singer Joey Eppard. Apollo Sunshine (www.apollosunshine.com), Fun poppy music, lo-fi pop rock (maybe?), a band that could fit in to the indie scene and the jam band scene, or end up on the radio one day
